The Traditional ruler without joining needless issues pronounced royal blessings and prayers on the personal welfare of his royal Son, Governor Eweta Emmanuel Uduaghan, same Support and proclamation of approval was assured the leadership and members of the Uduaghan Vision.
Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba, made it clear that his approved of the second term bid of the present administrate is bases on the fact that, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is the only governor of Delta state, who actually put a real seal on the question of the reality of Asaba being the Delta State capital, as massive capital projects currently going on in Asaba are evident enough for all to see.
A royal charge was communicated do all Anioma sons and daughters, to stay their intentions to vie for either Governorship or Deputy Governor positions in the forth coming elections, to make possible the Anioma quest of producing the next governor come 2015 a reality.

UDUAGHAN VISION EARNS COMMUNITY SUPPORT AHEAD OF 2011.
Uduaghan Vision recently proved to Deltans that their political pressure group position is one with a formidable grass-root and community grasp.
The group’s recent tour to the traditional ruler’s palaces in the Anioma nation buttress the fact that they are well positioned to help lead the present government of Dr. Eweta Emmanuel Uduaghan to secure Victory at the polls come 2011.
Between 26th to 28th January 2010, a 16 man powered committee led by Dr. Joshua E. Enueme paid Advocacy visits to the palaces of traditional and community leaders in Oshimili South, Aniocha South and Oshimili north Local Government areas of the state.
The team leader, Dr. Joshua E. Enueme at the traditional rulers palaces informed the communities that the objective of the Uduaghan Vision’s tour include: to sensitize the royal fathers on the reason for the formation of Uduaghan Vision and why the group want to support the Governor come 2011.
Dr. Enueme, further explained, that the group is already forging bridges of unity amongst Anioma people and Deltans from other senatorial districts towards the realization of Uduaghan Vision’s aim and goals come 211 and the realization of the Anioma quest for Delta State Governorship bid come 2015, to their needs they pledge their loyalty and votes for Uduaghan come 2015.
The team presented copies of the Uduaghan Vision maiden magazine to the community leaders.
The Anioma Community leaders visited promise to support the Gov. Uduaghan 2nd term bid as long as come 2015, he will deliver on his promise to support the Anioma nation in the realization of their aspiration to the government House.
Evan. Ossia N. Ossia reminded the Community that beyond 2011, the Uduaghan Vision will transform into Anioma Vision to provide the platform for the realization of the Political Anioma quest.
The community leaders were reminded that soon the Uduaghan vision will organize a rally which they will be invited and such occasion will be a bridge building event b/w the Anioma people and the rest Deltans.
At various communities visited Chief Dan Okenyi, chief Douglas Okolotu and Dr. Emmanuel Mafiana in their brief remark highlighted with respect to the promises made by the Delta state government on the 3 point agenda and the promises kept by the same administrations, which include: commissioning and implementation of the Urban taxi scheme, signing of N1 billion M.O.U with Bank Of Industries (B.O.I) for Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) in Delta State, the flagging off and Operational free rural health-care program, street light project in most major cities, that have reduced crime rate and the completed Olumu bridge.
Chief Mary Chidi challenged Delta State women to take positive steps towards active civil and political participation in their communities, she encouraged them to take advantage of the gender-friendly programs of the State government and seek meaningful and proactive ways to support and benefit from the on going free rural health care program, free maternal health care delivery system, the gender-friendly micro-credit program for rural women and Urban Active poor.
The touring team created an Interactive session for the communities visited; an opportunity the community used to both appreciate the state government for remembering their existence, as well as an occasion used to share their pains and needs and promised that with the state administrations attendance

FIRST OF NIGERIA’S FIRST LADIES IMMORTALIZED
The capital city of Asaba stood still on 30th January 2010, as top class women groups, in-laws and youth groups in Asaba immortalize their own African Queen and Lady of Natural Beauty, late Dr. (Mrs.) Maryam Ndidi Babangida, as those who know her call and address her.
The in-laws from Umuekwo Village, Ajaji Quarters, Women and Youth groups started the day with a memorial walk from the West-end part of Asaba down to the ancestral home of the Okogwu’s, after a brief welcome address from some family members, the memorial walk continued to Falcon Club House Asaba.
Enyi Doris Oby Nwokobia during the memorial lecture at Falcon Club House, appreciated all the in-laws, Women and Youth groups for sharing their time with the Okogwu’s to immortalize their African Queen of greatness and glamor.
In her welcome address, Mrs. R. I. Allahana, president, De crown women Association, Delta State Chapter, expressed her joy for the support Ahaba women and youth groups contributed to the success of the event.
Citation of Dr. (Mrs.) Maryam Ndidi Babangida was done by Barr. B. Anyafulu, executive director, International Center for Women Empowerment and Child Development, Asaba.
The highlight of the event was the lecture presented by the Guest lecturer, Barr. Mrs. Rachael Bolu Somiari, the South-South coordinator, Better life Program for Rural and African Women, her lecture was centered around the African Queen, Dr. Mrs. Maryam Ndidi Babangida, she knew, the natural beauty, intellect and the Amazon dexterity that were her natural endowment.

Mrs. Rachael Bolu Somiari highlighted on the Origin and history of Dr. Mrs. Maryam Babangida’s pet program “Better life program for the African rural women”, the program’s goals, aims and objectives, as well as some of the previous development projects, the program embarked upon as well as seminars, workshops and conferences organized so far for the enthronement and advancement of African women by the program.
In her vote of thanks Mrs. Winnie Oburo (Nee Okogwu) thanked all the In-laws, Women and Youth groups, who sacrificed their already scheduled engagement to pay tribute to the departed, African Queen and Lady of Natural Glamor, Dr. (Mrs.) Maryam Ndidi Babangida (Nee Okogwu) who died on December 27, 2009 in the United State of America and was buried in Minna, Niger state on December 30, 2009.

STAKEHOLDERS CAN END ELECTORAL VIOLENCE.....DFID/ACTION AID
As part of the activities ensure a free and fair elections in Nigeria, the U. K. Department for international Development (DFID) funded a one day seminar for Action Aid Nigeria (AAN), as part of her special project and intervention programming for violence-free electoral process.
Gbenro Olajuyigbe, of Action Aid Nigeria and program coordinator, “Strengthening Action Against Electoral Violence in Nigerian” called on electoral process stakeholders (Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Political Parties, Education Observers, Judiciary, Security Agencies and the Media) to recognize their vital votes in electoral process and reposition themselves to discharge their respective function as outlined in the Electoral Acts, to support and realize a free, fair and violence-free electoral process.
The session on “reducing the risk of electoral violence in elections, exposed the participants to an understanding of the risk factors that fuel electorate violence, as well as, an appreciation of analysis mechanism for the prevention and control of electoral violence, practical issues that have in the past contributed to electoral violence were exposed to the participants by Gbenro Olajuyigbe of the AAN.
Major Issues in electoral Violence in Nigerian was an interactive session led by Otive Igbuzor, executive Director, African center for leadership, strategy and Development (Center LSD).
Igbuzor’s training session enable participants to understand previous trend and roles stakeholders played with respect to elections, democracy and governance since 1959 in Nigeria, also highlighted was the problems of previous elections, previous forms of electoral violence, as well as cause of electoral violence.
In the cause of the session and as the participants got engaged in participatory engagement, other issues like, mastering trends of electoral process in Nigeria, Practical issues of electoral Violence in election, managing electoral violence and lessons learnt from bye elections in Nigeria were issues of highlight participants discussed.
Highlight of the event was the stakeholder’s group discussions, which was an opportunity for the stakeholders to brain-storm on what they will do to end electoral violence in Nigeria in partnership with INEC, after their break-away group discussion, each group shared their ideas and viewpoint with all present.

DELTANS RATE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE LOW
Prominent Deltans at a one-day seminar for all Justices of peace in Delta State, organization by the Delta State Judiciary in Conjunction with Grace Resource Centre, Warri, demonstrated that the approach and manner the men of the Nigerian Polices force carry out their daily responsibilities in the State is one that cannot improve human right records in the state.
Leading the panel of discussants at the event, His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba, was of the opinion that both the services of the Nigerian police and the dispensation of justice in the country is inefficient and ineffective, he reminded the participants that just one day event may not be enough to study the challenges facing the Judiciary and Nigerian Police force and Suggested that another Similar event will make do for the events short coming, as well as calling on the Nigerian Government to provide a sustainable funding mechanism for these institutions.
Hon. Justice Marshal Umukoro, a high court Judge at the High court of justice, Oleh, unequivocally testified that police brutality on Deltans is a notorious fact and most armless Deltans are hopelessly suffering on daily basis from one form of right abuse or the other, without an effective community response to check the unlawful conducts of the men and officers of Nigerian police force.
The Delta State Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Chief Victor Otomiewo ion this remarks and as a source of hope for Deltans said that Deltans who in the past or in future, suffer police brutality, under the laws of the federal
Further, in this presentations, the delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for justice, informed the Seminar participants that the Screening of prospective Justice of peace in the state will no longer be business as usual, it was his opinion that hence forth, individual character, competence, age and community approval will be among some of the yardsticks and criteria for the investiture of justice of peace on any Deltan.
The representative of the commissioner of police Delta State command, ACP leye Oyebde in response and defense of the Nigerian police force charged Deltans to always insist on their rights and demand for “free bailing process” over bail-able offences, he denied the argument that the checking points are exploitation spots and challenged Deltans to report to his office such cases. On the prolification of information Deltans hand over to the police, ACP Oyebade told Deltans to always entrust their information to senior and responsible police officers, as no such officer will want to put his career on the line, by toying with info he has being entrusted with.
